We normally give our son 2-3teaspoons of cereal with a little fruit and hour and a half before bed shortly after his dinner bottle. Then he gets a couple more ounces right before bed.
Tonight I was running behind and he had his cereal a lot closer to bedtime, about 40 mins before I laid him down. It took him 15 min to settle and I almost went in and picked him up and burped him, but he didn't cry or fuss, just restless. It's really unlike him. He's usually out pretty quick. I'm just worried that he'll have issues digesting it since it was so close to bedtime.
Re: How long before bedtime do you feed solids?
We feed him his dinner right before he goes down(at about 7:30) , like 15mins or so before. He has finger foods with us when we have dinner too at about 5:30ish. We've never had any problem with him being restless, but I guess this is what hes used to. We do dinner so late so he stays full throughout the night and it seems to work.
He also gets a 4-5oz bottle between 5:30 and 7:30. I also offer him one before he goes to bed and eats about 2oz.
