WDW app for iphone?

Are any of these worth it? I thought they might be good to see wait times.

Re: WDW app for iphone?

  • We used the Touring Plans app and found it to be pretty good. It's by the same people that put out "The Unofficial Guide to WDW." the app itself is free, but to join the site (www.touringplans.com) is $11.99 per year.

There's a chat feature on the app that I've really enjoyed.

The official app is only for Verizon users and it's called " Mobile Magic." it's only recently come out for iPhone (like in the past month). I don't know if it costs anything now, but when I got it, it was free.

Keep in mind that it will post Disney's official/posted wait times which are often inflated. Something like Touring Plans or Undercover Tourist will use actual wait times submitted by people in the parks.

I can go on and on and on about Disney planning. :) It became a bit of a hobby when we were planning our January trip.

  • Eh, according to Disney and Verizon, the app (Mobile Magic) is only on their network, but that any carrier's phone can access the mobile site.

With that being said, I don't think I'd rely on Mobile Magic for wait times because I'm pretty sure that it will give the same times that are posted outside of rides.

Apps like the Touring Plans and Undercover Tourist will give times based on actual times submitted by people waiting in the parks.

It's in Disney's interest to give a worse-case scenario so people don't get angry. If you've been TOLD the wait will be 30 minutes, but it's actually 10, you'll be happy. Conversely, if you're told the wait is 10 minutes and you wait 30, you'll be a bit peeved.

  • Just came back from there yesterday.  I got the offical wdw app for my AT&T iphone, I thought it was either free or 1.99.  We defiantely used it.
  • Just checked, yup, mine was free for att iphone. I think if you have verizon though you get bonus stuff.
