YUCK! Infant formula...have you tried it? Need advice!!

My LO is almost 7 months, and I am BF exclusively but recently had to supplement with formula due to me having to take a medication that cannot be avoided unfortunately. The medication recommends not to BF while taking it. So I am pumping and dumping, using what I have of my frozen BM and using a little bit of formula to help us get through this time. 

 Well I like to try everything first before it goes into my baby's mouth and the infant forumla is GROSS. I am using the powdered similac that comes in a can. It has the most awful metallic taste. For those of you using formula and for those of you who have tried it, do all baby formulas have that weird metallic taste? Is that normal? Does the enfamil taste better? Maybe i need to buy the liquid kind?  Please offer any advice you can. I am mixing it with my BM, and using more BM so i dont think my LO can really taste it, but I worry about the taste.

I cant wait to be done with this medicine so i can get back to just BF!

    Yes. All baby formula tastes terrible. Very metallic and a bit sourish to me. A good share of it smells weird to me too. Not bad, not good just weird.

    My kid loves it (Both Similac and Target) so whatever I guess. ;)

    FWIW, I Bf'd for five months and thought my Bmilk tasted horrid too.

    I've heard but don't know from experience that Walmarts parents choice tastes the most like breast milk and their poos even look similar..

    Our LO doesn't like the taste of similac soy too much, but I do half and half BM and formula.  It extends my decreased supply, and he doesn't notice much of a taste difference.

    This is very much true for us. We use PC formula, and it's a very subtle, sweet taste, much like my BM, and he did have BM-like poos. It even smells better than any of the rest.

    Good start isn't bad, either, but Similac smells weird to me, and enfamil is the WORST in my opinion.

    it definitely tastes awful (breastmilk just tastes like sugar water to me), but she'll drink it mixed with breastmilk, so I don't worry about it.

    I am right there with ya!  We have to supplement and I felt awful making him drink it after BM! He did take to it we use the Good Start after hearing it is easier for BF babies to switch but just my opinion.
