bloody show?

Woke up this morning to some blood (not mucousy), and am curious if your mucous plug (which I lost on Wednesday) and bloody show can be two different things? With DD I lost my mucous plug (bloody) 5 hours before having her. I'm not having any contractions yet, although I was having a few BH ones last night before bed, but I am kind of crampy. Thinking the contractions may be on their way soon....?

I had bloody show the morning before I went into labor with my daughter. My contractions kicked in about 7:30 pm and I delivered her the next morning at 8:14 am. Good luck!

I am exactly as far along as you are and woke up yesterday to some blood. I had a doc appt yesterday and she said it was a good sign that my cervix was thinning. She checked me and told me I was 60% and that's what the blood was most likely from. So as she put it your body is just progressing.

I'll add that as of last Monday I was dilated to a 2 and 60% effaced.

I think the mucous plug and the bloody show are one and the same, but the blood you're seeing is probably still a sign of early labor. And it could be the beginning of losing your mucous plug, too. I know women who were gradually losing their plug over the course of a week or so.
