I don't know if anyone has asked this, and if so I apologize in advance. Has anyone taken a tour of the Labor and Delivery unit they will be delivering at? DH and I are going tonight, and wondering if anyone found it helpful/useful. Thanks!
I'm 28 weeks and my husband and I just starting talking about it.
It would be great if you posted when you got home and said what you thought about it!!! I thought it would be good to find out what they supply you with so that we could be prepared on what we need to bring with us!
When I'm done tonight, I will post an update on it! I figure it can't hurt to take this, I was just curious of experiences of others who did take this tour.
Yea i took it some weeks back, i thought it was super helpful cause every hospital is different & last night i thought my water broke and getting to the l&d area was nice and easy cause of the tour. I recommend it again just to see how your hospital works
My husband and I took it a few weeks ago! I found that it was very helpful! I'm not sure what kind of birth you are wanting, but it's a great time for you to ask questions about all of your preferences! It's also nice to get all of the visitor information so you can pass that on to your family. DH and I had a blast! It made everything seem so real. Enjoy it!
They offer a whole day saturday course at my hospital for new moms. But DH and I didnt really want to spend our saturday having someone tell us how to breathe and push when I know I wont remember a thing in the delivery room. However, my sister delivered at the same hospital end of January and I got a pretty good idea of what goes on and where everything is. If i didnt see L&D with my sister, I probably would go, just to be prepared.
My hubby and I took a birthing class around 28 weeks and they gave us a tour at the end of the class. We really enjoyed seeing where everything would be happening. It's nice to be aware of what it looks like and it was pretty exciting/surreal to be standing in a delivery room that we could be in
