I had a physical last week and had chest x-rays. When they asked me if I was pregnant, I said no. Obviously, because I didn't think I was. I did tell them I was married and sexually active, so I guess there is always a possibility.
I am a little worried about the effects of the x-ray. I know I am probably fine, but now that I got the BFP, my mind is wandering thinking of all the things I have done in the past month - drinking (not a lot), sushi, the x-rays, antibiotics that are no-nos while pregnant.
Re: My mind is running a million miles a minute now....
You're fine. Until he baby has an established placenta & is actually getting anything from you, it's not a huge deal. Before that, it has it's own supply of nutrients (yolk sac etc.) so you're covered. Unless you continue to do them, then that's a whole different ball game.
Try not to worry though. It will all be alright. Sorry you're worried.
I know its hard not to think about it, but you can always make a list to talk with OB on your 1st appt. Honestly, so many ppl do wild & crazy things not realizing they're pregnant. I think you and baby will be fine. That little thing was just a zygote
Make sure you're taking your folic acid/prenatal vitamins and just be uber healthy now that you got your BFP!
Congrats!
I am an x-ray tech who did CT scans everyday during my pregnancy. While yes we stand in a booth while the exams are taking place, we are exposed to residual radiation that bounces around, in addition to all the other natural and unnatural sources of radiation. When people ask this, I always want to say, "what do you think I did for 9 months??" I mean, do you think I had a desk job while I was pregnant? This is not a personal attack on you, I just think that every time! LOL
You will be fine. A chest x-ray is just about the smallest amount you can get!
