Nurseries and Baby Gear

Did you register for a mobile?

We are having twins and I plan to breastfeed. I plan to put the babies in a co-sleeper & bassinet in our room at first. Then they'll transition into their own cribs (sharing a nursery).

Should we get a mobile? If so, I would probably only get one like one of these:

My sister passed down a crib toy like this one:

I figure we only need one or the other for a crib.

Do you think crib toys are necessary?

Thanks!

  • I would, but honestly I think those are such a big money waster. $50 for plastic suspending tiny plush animals?

I would go with a developmental one like this instead:

DD is 16months old and she loves the projection  part.  it was well worth the money.

  • Nope, and we never had one. My son slept with us for 7 months and by the time we transitioned him to his crib, he was pulling up so a mobile would have been a hazard. I'm glad we never spent the money because it would have been a waste.

This is what we have.  Bean still goes to sleep to the music.

  • I'm DIY-ing one for the nursery, but planning on keeping it very high and more for decorative purposes. Maybe once we get to know our babe we will purchase a developmental one.

  • I had registered for a plush nice one to go with bedding. What a waste.  Luckily, two friends insisted I borrow their mobiles that were lifesavers and I eventually tried both.  If it were not for the Tiny Love Serenade mobile, I think my son would have never gone in crib awake.  I used to have to rock him to sleep until I got this mobile.  We also have a FP Soother in crib and at almost 2 it is great for him.  He loves the fishy.

Thank you for this rec!  I added it and Tiny Love stroller toy arch to my registry.  These items are super cute and I like that the stroller arch can be attached to the car seat as well.  I'm hoping it'll hook on the the Bjorn bouncer too.  Great product!!

The Tiny Love toy arch is AWESOME.  It attaches to everything so easily.  It's one of the best toys we have.
