Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Drool

My 3 month old is drooling constantly and soaking her shirts.  I'm worried a rash will result from her shirts being wet, but changing her shirt doesn't solve the problem because she gets the new one wet.  Any input?  And how long will this last?  Thanks!

Re: Drool

  • My DD has the same issue so she pretty much wears a bib all day during waking hours.  I have found some great bibs that are polyster/cotton mix that work really well.  The only brand I found with that blend though are Carters.  Babies R' Us also has bibs with a cloth front and plastic back that keep her shirts dry.  I'd like to say it will get better soon but DD started with the drool around 3 months and is still always covered in drool.

  • We have a pretty drooly one, too. At daycare, they leave her in a bib all day so that she doesn't soak through her clothes.
  • I would recommend using a bib during the day, thats what we do. It will prob last until they are done teething but im not sure.

  • Time for some cute bibs!!!

My son has been wearing a bib every day for the past month and I change it a couple times a day when it gets completely soaked.

From what I understand, it lasts until they're teeth are all set.
