Trying to Get Pregnant

is this possible? phantom symptom?

I stopped temping regularly so I cant be sure but I am somewhere between 5-10dpo and since monday I have been ridiculously tired (falling asleep by 7pm, 9pm the latest) and also eating like crazy. ordering take out food every night, no incentive to workout or eat healthy even though i was doing really well for the past 3 weeks prior.

so i dont want to jinx it, and say that i think they could be phantom symptoms. but does anyone (who already has been pg) know for sure if you can experience this extreme lazyness as an early sign? I mean usually i have motivation after work to go to spin class, walk to dogs, etc. and this entire week all i want is to lay in bed and veg out. ive even been eating a lot late at night which isnt my normal thing.

i was thinking about it today and maybe (if you are pg) then the lazyness/tiredness is your body trying to keep you still so as not to disturb the newley embedded embryo? i just keep picturing myself in spin class and how fast my body is moving and seeing this little tiny egg trying to latch on while being jostled around - maybe its mother namtures way of keeping us inactive during this delicate time period?

or am i just totally way off base? lol...

Re: is this possible? phantom symptom?

  • Rising progesterone levels can make you tired/sleepy in early pregnancy. I started noticing exhaustion at 7 dpo with my last pregnancy. Got a positive the first time I tested at 9 dpo. If it really is from pregnancy hormones than you should be able to get a positive test by now or very soon...so test!

  • If laziness was a PG symptom I'd be KTFU every month ;-)

When I was PG with DS the only symptoms I had in my first trimester were extreme fatigue and a little bit of weight gain toward the end.  I don't think I started feeling tired for several weeks after my BFP though.

    GL to you!

Sorry to chime in here but I was lurking and wanted to say that I was riding (and I don't mean ambling along, actively training) 5-6 horses a day as well as doing barn work which included heavy lifting  when I was TTC DS and that certainly didn't stop the embryo from "latching on."

That's not why your body becomes exhausted, it's probably related to hormones, most notably progesterone. Since you don't know how many dpo you are it's hard to say if it's legit or not but I hope it turns out well for you. GL

ok this is good to know! i am always afraid to work out really hard during the 2ww for that reason - feeling like it could have a negative impact on the implantation. i guess i cant use that as an excuse any more to stay home from the gym! hahaha...

  • I definitely remember feeling extreme exhaustion in my first weeks of pregnancy with DD but not before I took my test. The morning I took my second test (I got a BFN the day before) I just felt "different." I don't know how else to explain it. I wasn't charting or anything so I had no idea what dpo I was but it was a Sunday and I had typically (on BC) got my AF on the following Tuesday. I took the test and left it on the counter, brushed my teeth and then looked down and there it was. GL to you. I hope you get your BFP soon.

I was very tired when I first found out I was pregnant...BUT that was after I already knew, so it could have easily been my mind saying I'm pregnant, I deserve to cuddle up with my cat and take a nap rather than be productive.  And then again, I've also had plenty of weeks where I was dragging my butt, not wanting to do anything and I wasn't pregnant.

As far as the above, our bodies are pretty amazing, I doubt spin class could knock an embryo loose.  I would imagine just our regular daily movement is pretty jarring to something that small but they somehow stay put.  I think exhaustion in early pregnancy is just due to all of the enormous changes going on to accomdate.  Try not to read into symptoms, they'll drive you nuts, but FX that you get your BFP soon.

  • I'm pretty sure that exhaustion due to 1st trimester of pregnancy doesn't hit until well after a +HPT., like a few weeks after (closer to 6-8 weeks-ish), I'd say any exhaustion you feel now would be unrelated to a pregnancy.

Hope this is your lucky month, good luck!

    Seriously?

This. Don't we always tell people that there is no way we can tell I you are pregnant over the Internet? Take a test if you think you might be pregnant. If you're pregnant enough for symptoms then you're pregnant enough to get a positive test.

  • You know, you have a point about the whole knocking your embryo loose!  As a matter of fact, just in case you ARE ktfu, you're going to want to walk ONLY on your hands for at LEAST three months -- just in case gravity has it's way with your phantom embryo too.

    This.

OP, feeling "lazy" can happen at any time. Ive been lazy lately does this mean I am KU? Nope.

I was lazy for 2 weeks straight in December. Was I KU? Yes.

Just take a test if you think your pg.

I Have been pregnant 3 times and all three times I have gotten extremely tired as an early symptom in fact the only reason i found out so early last time was because I was tired and taking naps more often. My husband had told me to test because of my increase in naps. It is possible that you could be but you would have to test to know
