ugh, shower curtain help?

I bought a nylon (i think) washable shower curtain.  I've washed it once before using and it was fine.  This last time i washed it and the outer (decorative) curtain, and now the outer curtain seems to "stick" to the inner curtain, suck up the water, and drain it on my floor. Sad

Any advice on how to make it stop?

ps. I didn't use fabric softener.  I did use baking soda w/ some detergent, and vinegar for the rinse.

Re: ugh, shower curtain help?

  • Did you dry it in the dryer?

I am wondering if the water repellency (is that a word?) was affected by the vinegar?  making it water permeable?

Also if you put it in the dryer it could have lost its water proof-ness...

  • I can't say for sure but I washed our polyester fabric liner in the washing machine and I used vinegar for the mildew killing qualities and mine still works fine. I washed ours with some homemade detergent and a good squirt of tto dr.b's since I didn't have any straight tto. I didn't dry it though. I'm afraid I'm no help with fixing it - just trying to narrow the culprit so maybe someone else can help.
