Hey All! H and I are starting to TTC our 2nd LO, and I am just recently off my Mirena. I was just wondering if anyone had experience with TTC after Mirena, and how log it took? I know that it can be different with everyone, but I'm just interested in gathering information on the subject! Thanks in advance!

Re: TTC after Mirena
GL to you in TTC! Very exciting!
For me, prior to Mirena I had my period every 4th wednesday at 8 am on the dot. On mirena, I didn't have a period at all. I had Mirena moved this past August, had off cycles since then, M/C in November, and again two weeks ago
Just remember that everyone is different and most people (i am a very small percentage) go back to normal periods after Mirena removal.
О Привязать! Z!
I got my Mirena out after 3.5 years. I purposefully had it removed the morning before I was due to start AF so that my own hormone cycle would sync with the withdraw from the progesterone in the IUD.
My Ob told us to wait until I had a normal AF to show that my body had normalized and my lining had built back up. She told me it could take up to 3 months for this to happen. For me it took 2.
Reading about this around when I had mine out there were tonnes of women who reported getting KU within 3 months, and a bunch who had CP within a couple of months of having it out (which I asked my Ob about, and she said it was likely because their lining wasn't ready to maintain a pregnancy ... hence the waiting for a normal AF), and some with IF problems that they blamed on Mirena. I'm not sure if any of the IF problems could actually be attributed to the IUD because it seemed like many of them were ignoring that they were 5 years older then when they had it in and that your fertility is expected to decrease as you age. A quick PubMed (a medical research database) search turned up no case reports or studies linking Mirena to IF.
I know this doesn't quite answer your question. There is a lot of info about this on dozens of boards out there. Google has a wealth of info, as does your Ob-Gyn.
