Trying to Get Pregnant

Freakin' Pomegranate Juice

is disgusting! Ugh! I can barely get it down with some seltzer! Its funny too because I really like pomegranates! I'm not sure I'll buy more after this bottle, but then again, if it helps... Anybody else trying this this cycle?

Re: Freakin' Pomegranate Juice

  • I started this cycle too. It is a bit bitter but my main complaint is its so damn expensive! $5 a bottle (32 oz so only lasts 4 days). If I don't get KTFU this cycle I don't know if I'm gonna drink it next cycle

  • I've been drinking it and I was the same way at first but I have started to get used to it and enjoy it.  I know that POM Wonderful also has blueberry pom juice and it is really much better but it only has 85% pom juice so I'm not sure if its as effective. Hope the taste gets better for you! You could always hold your nose as you drink it, lol

I know, I got mine at a natural food co-op and it was ten dollars for 32oz! Literally the only ingredient is pressed pomegranate seeds.

  • I used to put it in a smoothie.  The other flavors of the fruit seemed to mask the taste.  I did that with pineapple core too.  GL!

  • I drink POM on occasion because I like it, but not as part of a TTC regimen. Honestly, since 1) you don't like it, 2) it's expensive, and 3) there is very little proof that it does anything good for TTC, then I'd ditch it if I were you. If you like pomegranates, then go that route. JMO.

  • I actually tried the POM wonderful brand from Publix.  I liked it as long as it was really cold.  If this cycle is a bust, I won't try it again because it is so expensive.
  • The blueberry pom juice is delicious!  I've been drinking both straight pom and the blueberry pom this month.  I dilute it with water because it's so tart and just drink twice as much.  I also use it to cool down and add a little flavor to my green tea.

  • I actually posted about a week or so ago. I bought a 32 oz bottle of it for $10 -- organic, all pressed pomegranate seeds. It didn't even have any water added. And it tasted AWFUL, like beet juice. I didn't have anything to mix with it...except champagne, lol. Fortunately, it was a Sunday afternoon. So my pomegranate champagne cocktail wasn't too weird....I guess. :)
  • I drank it this cycle. Pom I thought tasted good but I also tried the Langers fresh pressed 100% pomegranate juice and it was not very good!  I can usually find Pom coupons in my weekly paper

  • I really like POM. I add water to dilute it a bit because it is a pretty concentrated juice... I think it's a bit of an acquired taste too...

I agree!!! I thought it seemed bitter at first too but have somewhat adjusted. But the price is killer! It was on sale at my grocery store last week and I bought like six bottles, my husband thought I was going insane.

That's good to know. I *think* mine was Langer's. Maybe if I have to go on to the next cycle, I will try POM.

  • I brew some green tea , add honey and then chill the tea. Once it is cooled I add 8oz of pomegranate juice. I actually like it that way but don't like it straight. I have also mixed it with some white wine beforeas well and it made it kind of like a wine cooler.

  • I know I'm late to the discussion but I just wanted to share my Pom experience. The first two times I drank it (alone, not mixed with anything), I violently threw up after about 30 minutes. This happened twice. I didn't mind the taste at all, but my body rejected it. Not sure why but when I googled it, I saw that others also got sick from it too.

I've tried to mix it with other things and I can at least keep it down. It never fails to give me horrible heartburn though. So, I'm just sticking with water these days!
