Going back to work: how much to pay the babysitter?

This is our first child & most of my friends are SAHMs. One of my best friends mother is going to watch DD while I work (I'm a nurse so I work three 12 hr shifts a week). How much should we pay her hourly? Any suggestions?

    That's tough, because it varies souch by area. I would maybe ask this on your local Board to see what is normal in your area, or call around to some in-home providers in your area to see how much they charge. Good luck - its great you have a friend to watch LO!

    Given this is your best friend's mom and not some stranger or someone from care.com or sittercity, I would ask her what she thinks is fair and also use your local board to determine the right amount.

    One of my close friends is going to keep DD when I return to work.  We settled on 110 a week.  She will have her from 8 am til about 4 pm M-F
