I was running behind this morning and left the milk I had just pumped on the counter....I totally forgot to put it in the fridge. Guess I will just have to toss it when I get home. DS eats too much to have me be stupid like this.
Happy Thursday?

Sorry, that sucks! I had to throw out frozen BM once my DD stopped willing drinking BM, even from a bottle and I actually cried. Pumping is not easy!
Will you be gone longer than 8 hrs? I think I would stretch it to 9-10 and still use it but I am very lax like that, I use formula thats been un-refridgerated for longer than 1-2 hrs ::gasp::
I thought fresh could only be out 4 hrs before it was no longer good?
I just checked kellymom.com and according to her chart, standard room temperature fresh expressed is good for 10 hours, 4-6 if the room is warm, and 24 in a freezer pack. Here's the link:
If I remember correctly you are up in Washington right, so unless it's under an air vent I would think you could say it's at room temp 66-72?F / 19-22?C.

Will you be back within 10 hrs??
Yes I will be back on my lunch break (5 hours after it has been out). Good to know it's still good! And our house should be on the cooler side (the way H likes it!)!

I found that answered varied from source to source. For freshly expressed milk, Medela says 4-6 hours, Dr Sears says anywhere between 4-24 hrs depending on room tempt, and the La Leche League says 4-(potentially)8
If I were in that situation, I would definitely save it...I hate pumping :op

Honestly, I have pumped milk, fallen asleep (when she was really little) and it sat overnight for like 10 hours at room temp before I realized what I had done. I used it. She survived. Like PP, that stuff is GOLD and a cherished commodity. I wouldn't dump it unless it was turning green or smelled bad.
Re: Boo hoo...
Aww... I am sorry that is a total bummer!
