If you do, what do you send? Leftovers from dinner? Store bought baby food? I want to get DD off purees. She eats table food for dinner (whatever we are eating) but I'm still sending purees to DC. Our DC said they would feed her whatever we send, so I want to start sending table food instead of making her purees, mostly because she eats table food now and I don't feel like making more purees!

I send table food every day, we just try to keep it non-messy since they can't cart her off to the bathtub. We do send leftovers from dinner a lot - strips of meat, cooked veggies.
If I don't have anything good from dinner, I'll microwave steam some veggies, I keep squash, bell pepper, broccoli, and carrots in the fridge because they're easy to steam/send. Baked sweet potato fries work well. I've also sent pancakes, mini muffins, etc. Today I sent her some bars made from quinoa with zucchinni and spinach (that girl LOVES quinoa). Fruit is easy too, I have been known to write her name on the outside of a whole banana and stick it in her food bag
Cut up kiwis, steamed apple or pear slices (they won't let us send raw). I also send whole wheat pita bread with a little hummus spread on it. Cooked pasta with a little butter on it is a little less messy than a real sauce on it.
Her daycare asked us not to send seafood, peanut products, eggs, or berries. Boo! I try to stay away from spaghetti sauce, applesauce, yogurt, etc. Anything that makes a huge mess or needs a spoon we just practice with at home!
how do you do edamame? just cooked pieces? I've always been scared of them since they seem the perfect size to choke on and they don't seem to get super soft. Do you steam them until they are extra mushy? I love the idea of giving her edamame!

I add chopped spinach for extra iron, and leave out most of the seasonings, the honey, and the baking powder. I form them into bars instead of round patties, and just cook them in a pan with a little olive oil. I panfry a whole batch, freeze, and then heat one up in the toaster oven if I'm going to send it the next day.

So many! I used to be an active poster on the Cooking board on the nest back in the day, so my google reader always has over 1000 new cooking blog posts! Some of my favorites that I've had actual success with the recipes are Annies Eats, Pink Parsley, Smitten Kitchen, and of course Pioneer Woman (google any of those and their blogs should pop right up).
These days I'm more of a pinterest stalker than anything though!
I had been majorly slacking on cooking since I was pregnant, but now that Lexi is eating real food, I'm starting to make dinner more often. No matter how tired I am, I just can't let her eat the garbage I eat when we get take out!

Sorry - I just saw this question! I found a package of ready to eat, shelled edamame in the produce section at publix. I did heat them a bit and then kinda smooshed them first - they are a bit firm and slippery, so the smooshing helped and the skin slid right off. I also have a bag in the freezer that I will just steam really well. He did really well with them.
