Re: Baby Food

  • I've found https://wholesomebabyfood.momtastic.com/ to be a great resource! Foods have different preparations (some are cooked, some are not), but I end up sticking all in our vitamix blender. Depending on the consistency, I'll either add some water before freezing or some breastmilk. I freeze the food in ice cube trays - each cube is supposed to be about an ounce, I believe. I would rather use stainless ice cube trays to avoid the plastic, but those suckers are super expensive...I've seen them for about $35ish on amazon. Hopefully someday! To eat, I defrost the food in a glass container (the small pyrex ones). We currently use the BPA free munchkin spoons, but we'd like to upgrade to bamboo spoons or stainless spoons someday soon (got the munchkin spoons as a shower gift and they were already opened, so I couldn't return them).

  • oh - after the cubes are frozen, I store them in a freezer safe ziploc bag. I reuse the bags over and over again so they don't get wasted.

  • Just a suggestion, have you considered baby-led weaning?  Totally easier than making baby food!
