I am interested to see how many teeth everyone's LO has. Our pediatrician is amazed at LO's super fast teething progression and I feel like th eonly mom on earth who has had a baby constantly teething since 13 weeks. Serioulsy, it has never stopped. They just keep coming. Teeth 8 and 9 are coming through as we speak and all of the gums surrounding the k9's are starting to swell so from experience, I'm almost positive they are right around the corner.
I have been through it all when it come to trying to get LO to sleep consistently through the night. I have read a ton of books, done all sorts of methods, some have helped, some of been very frustrating and disheartening. I expressed this to the ped. today and she said, "most parents get a break between 4 months and begginning teething, where the baby establishes sleep, but you never got that because he has been steamrolled with all of these teeth"..............well that's just awesome.......
I almost broke down and cried in her office. I need sleep so badly and I am always driving myself nuts trying to find out "what's wrong" and why he isn't STTN. Her comment made me feel somewhat better that maybe it's not me, or my lack of letting him CIO or do the "right" thing with sleep, and maybe he just IS getting his teeth abnormally fast?!
Sorry about the rant
I know you fellow sleepless mothers can relate to the deleriousness! If it is the teething, than I am just going to roll with it and stop driving myself insane with trying to "fix" his sleeping with training and methods. THey say not to do that stuff when they are teething and unfortunately he was only not teething for two weeks around Thanksgiving, of which we both had colds....NO BREAK I TELL YA!
Re: How many teeth?
No teeth for us yet. Although she has been teething since 3 1/2 months old! I feel so bad for DD - she just keeps chomping on everything. There are days were it is worse than others.
As far as sleeping goes, she does ok. Typical night for us is 2-3 pacifier runs. There are weeks were I am up rocking her to sleep in the middle of the night. But we stopped feeding in the middle of the night at 3 months or so.
I'm sorry you're going through this but I'm glad to hear anothe baby has so many teeth! Audrey is cutting 5 and 6 right now. It seems like she's constantly teething as well so i feel ya.
Btw, it's so good to "see" you! I haven't been on tb in some time but it's nice to see a familiar face! Are you in the FB group?

Melissa! it's so great to see you and your little lady! Wyatt's pic is so old, I need a new one! No, I never joined the FB group and I thought it was closed or something from what I gathered on here?
Well it's only appropriate for us foodie moms to have babies with so many teeth! Despite the night struggles and pain on his end, it's been so great being able to cook and prepare him "real" food lately since he's chewing like a mad man! I'm sure you are having fun! She is so adorable by the way
No, I lurk once in a whiel and rarely post. I am swamped between baby, school and everything else. We are doing toast, cheese, soft cut up fruit and veggies, beans, little pieces of meat (he's not a big fan though). His fave is orange wedges. He looooves sucking on them! He is so independent and wants to feed himself everything. Bottles and food so he gets frustrated with purees. I try to give him two "containers" (we make our own) a day and then the solid stuff. Since weaning from BFing (a sad and long story...) he is so busy and uninterested in milk so I really have to make sure that he gets his bottle before anything else. If not, he is up even more at night
LO got his 1st tooth at 5 mo(just after Thanksgiving) and we are now up to 6. I can see 7 about to pop through and know 8 isn't far behind since they have always come in two's and his gum is pretty swollen where the tooth will come in. I'm hoping we catch a little break after these 2. The 1st two that popped through were not an issue, we didn't even realize he was teething but the other ones have been more painful for him and his nighttime sleep suffered for it. Good luck and I hope you catch a break soon!
FWIW, my son has never STTN and until last week was still up 3-5 times a night. This last week he's only been up 2-3 times and I think partly because the teeth aren't bothering him right now. I've decided not to do any sleep training. He can fall asleep on his own and put himself back to sleep too but not consistently. Since I'm surviving on the sleep I get, I'm just waiting it out. If I start to suffer, then I'll think about sleep training.
DD #3 doesn't have any teeth yet!
