Crazy boy hair

So, I'm trying to give the boys three different haircuts so people have an easier time identifying them. Oliver gets buzzed, so that's easy. But I'm keeping Miles's and Linus's hair a bit longer (Miles longest of all) but they have these crazy cowlicks that keep their hair from laying down at all.

What can I do? Product?!?! Just keep growing it out and hope they don't end up looking like they stuck their fingers in an electrical socket? Hmm....

Re: Crazy boy hair

  • I would love to know a trick.

I'm not a fan of products in DS's hair, because it just doesn't look "right" if that makes sense.  The product doesn't keep the hair done...it just looks like there is product in it.

Buzzed cuts work great for him, but he looks just adorable with longer hair.

  • I wish I knew too.. we started doing at home buzz cuts for that reason. The only thing that works for us is getting DS' head completely saturated and then combing straight. But he hates that and it is time consuming when you're trying to leave in the morning!
  • Every morning, I have to slick DS's head down with water like an otter to get it to lay right.  I wet it like crazy, brush it with a boar's hair bristle brush, and let it dry.  It seems to stay okay that way.

This has actually worked for us too- someone gave me one of these brushes and for some reason it works much better than a comb on DS' hair. His hair has to be soaked too for the cowlicks to lay down.

  • My child is the king of bed head, no matter how short or how long we keep his hair. Short of buzzing it, which I don't want to do, it really can't be controlled. He hates product, we've tried.  I kind of like his messy mop head. It suits his crazy personality :-)
