  I am sorry for your loss. I have heard that it is very easy to get pregnant right after a miscarriage. I had a missed miscarriage and had to have a D&C, and my ob cleared me to ttc right away, so we did. I got pregnant after having only one period, and that pregnancy ended in a very early miscarriage. And I believe one reason is because after having the D&C, I just believe my body was not able to sustain a pregnancy yet. I waited the full 3 months after that miscarriage and am currently just over 13 weeks pregnant, and still crossing my fingers and toes everyday. I think it is very important to follow your Doctor's orders. If you don't agree with the time to wait, I would ask him/her what their reasoning is behind the waiting. But in my personal opinion, I think the body needs time to heal after a natural miscarriage, or a d&c. Good luck and hope to see you over here soon!

  I would totally listen to your doctor, they know your medical history. There is no science behind the "You are more fertile after a miscarriage" statement. From my experience I'm just as fertile after waiting 6 months as I am waiting one month. When I'm ready to get pregnant it has happened within 2 cycles regardless of how long ago my loss was. You really need to take your doctors advice, if you don't trust what they say you have every right to ask them why they made their suggestion.

  .i am very well aware of the feeling to get pregnant immediately and very soon after a miscarriage. we have all been there..i know it is so very hard to abstain or use birth control when the only thing in world u want to have is the baby . sadly there is no such thing as more fertile after a D&C .. for me the first time around i got pregnant after forgetting to use condom just one day ...  after the procedure it took me around 4 months . truth is even if evry thing is fine u only have 20% chance of getting pregnant each month . listen to your doctor and your body .

  I had a d&c and was told to wait three months before ttc again. We waited four (I wasn't ready emotionally)...we got pregnant on the first cycle trying. I don't think it matters if you wait and I would follow your doctor's recommendation.

  Follow your doctor's advice, if you have questions about it, call and ask.

  I was told to wait 2 cycles after my D&C, which I did.  I then had a chemical pregnancy, followed by a natural mc the cycle after that.  
  

  BFP#1: 9.16.08 DD: 5.28.09
  BFP#2: 7.10.11 MMC: 8.3.11 D&C: 8.29.11
  BFP#3: 12.5.11 MC: 12.22.11
  BFP#4: 2.14.12 MMC: 3.8.12 D&C: 3.13.12 Loss due to Trisomy 16
  BFP#5: 6.11.12 MC: 6.28.12 Loss due to Triploidy
  RPL BW, Sonohystogram, Chromosome testing on DH and myself = everything is normal
  BFP#6: 12.4.12 EDD: 8.16.13
  Things I did different with this pregnancy:
  1. Waited TTC until after I had 3 normal menstrual cycles.
  2. Got a new OB - amazing man who listened!
  3. 200 mg progesterone until 12 weeks
  4. Daily lovenox injections

  Listen to your doctor.

  We were cleared to TTC 3 weeks after my D&C.  We did, and it wound up being a chemical pregnancy because my lining was so thin and could not sustain a pregnancy yet.  It was awful having two back to back losses.  I wish we had been advised to wait longer.

  I had an early m/c and ended up with a d&c. My Ob said to wait 2 to 3 cycles but i asked her what would happen if i only waited one and she really didn't have objections. She then said i could ttc after one cycle. I waited one cycle and i honestly was not trying to get pregnant right away but one slip up and it just happend that i did get pregnant. I'm scared but so far everything is looking good. I wish you the best and I'm sorry for your loss. ((hugs))

  I'm so sorry for your loss.  I would definitely wait the time your doctor told you to wait.  My doctor told me I didn't need to wait after my D&C, but I decided to wait three months to heal physically and emotionally.  I'm so glad I did that, because I really needed that time.  I have learned from this pregnancy that one pregnancy does not replace another.  I still mourn the loss of my LO and think of her all the time.  I know three months seems like forever, but it really does go by fast and gives you time to grieve and heal.

  Hi. After the D & C my doc said to wait one cycle. I had my D&C, then 6 weeks later I got my period. The next week we started TTC, and then 2 weeks after that I found I was pregnant. I am 15 weeks along. My doc said wait 1 cycle, but after that we can start trying. I don't have an opinion because I really just did listen to my Dr on when we could start TTC again. I do agree with all the ladies on here though to listen to your Dr. Best of Luck!

  I never heard of being more fertile.

  My doctor had told me to wait after the first period after the d/c bleeding before start trying again.

  I got knocked up with in weeks of my D&C, while using a condom (while used properly, we were aware the condom did not work the way it should have.)  I am not saying it was the d&c.  I got pregnant easily with my other 2 pregnancies, 1st cycle of ovulation.
  

  I just wanted to say though, I am a nervous wreck right now!  I have been bleeding, which is apparently just something I do while pregnant, but I keep going in the bathroom to check.

  I've heard this too but haven't really had it substantiated by any doctors. We were told to wait one cycle, which we did. AF took about 6 weeks to return, the wait drove me crazy, but we did conceive the first cycle afterwards.

  Maybe seek a second opinion on how long to wait? But definitely listen to your doctor!
