My head is spinning (NBR) & 2 yr. check-up?

Super long story short, DH is in a contract position and he just found out today that we don't know if the contract will be picked up again starting April 1.  There's talk of extending the contract until June, but we don't know what will happen after that (will the new company pick him up or is he out of a job?).

I hate it when you don't know what will happen.  I'm a planner.  So, I'm thinking maybe we ought to get DS in early for his 2 year appt and get ourselves in to a Dr (I have a health issue that has to be monitored by bloodwork) and I think I should get my eyes checked.  So, maybe its a bunch of co-pays in the next 2 weeks, but we just don't know if he'll have a job or if we'll have insurance after March 31st.

What do they do at the 2 year check-up?  DS is up-to-date on vaccinations, so the only think I can think of is that he doesn't have more then 10 words he uses on a regular basis so they may want to refer us to speech therapy.  Anything else?  Guess I can post on 24+.  WWYD?

Other than that, DH will be submitting his resumes online and we may have to move since his field is so specialized.  HOLYCRAP

Take a chance. Take a risk. Take the initiative. Make your wishes a reality and make your dreams come true!

  • ...I think the 24+ is broken so GL posting. It worked for me for a min, then error.

At DS's 2 year they checked his iron and set me to a place (gave script and I went later) to have LO tested for lead. Both were part of regular exam. I feel like DS did get a shot, but he was behind on one and maybe that was him getting all caught up.

    GL!!!

  • DS got a Hep shot (B if I remember correctly) at his 2 year appt.  Otherwise it was more nutritional questions, about his sleeping habits, and his motor skills... which were easily identified as he climbed on everything in the exam room and tried to take apart the drawers for the supplies.

I would get all of that done ASAP too... I hate worrying about insurance.

  • I did my oldest's 2 year well check early.  We moved about a month before her b-day (about 3 weeks).  There was one test (hearing?) that insurance didn't cover because she wasn't officially two.  So, I guess if you want to get him in, ask your doc's office about this.
