Newborn - baby k'tan or moby?

I am scared of the Moby.  It appears from what I've read that the Baby K'tan does similar things, but without the wrapping.  Any opinions?  I especially like the idea of the K'tan made with the mesh for summertime.  Thanks!

Re: Newborn - baby k'tan or moby?

  • We had the Baby KTan and I didn't love it. It was way to warm to use once we got to the summer months (not the mesh version). DD seemed very constricted in it, which she hated, and I found it hard to adjust - it's possible I just got a size too small (even though it says to buy your pre-preg size), but I assume with a Moby I could have avoided that altogether. Also, DH couldn't use the KTan since it was sized for me, and he ended up really liking BWing so he would have preferred a Moby we could both use. We now have a Boba we both use and love. For our next LO, we're planning to add a Moby for the newborn days.

  • I have aMoby and find that it sags a lot, no matter how tightly I tie it. LO does like it, once the ten minutes to wrap/place baby are over! I'm wondering if the K'tan would also sag, but at least the tying issue wouldn't exist.

  • I love the Moby.  I've never used the k'tan, but I didn't like that it was sized for only me.  The Moby isn't that hard to figure out/use.  I wouldn't have survived the first few months without it.  Like 85% of his naps were in the Moby.

  • I love the k'tan. I think my daughter is getting a little heavy for it now. But, from newborn to even this last weekend, it has been great. I bought mine used online so it was a good deal too. I think the mesh breeze would be great if you live in a hot/humid climate as we were a little warm using it over the summer.

  • we love our k'tan. the seller for me was how easy it is to use over the moby. does all the same things, but without all the wrapping. we didn't have an issue with sizing (i was between sizes, so i followed their tips and got the smaller one - their customer serv people were really helpful). it was a little snug at first but after about 5 minutes it fit great and we have loved it since. i don't own the breeze but i did use my friends for a bit and loved that too, lol. wish i could get it, but dh doesn't see the need for it right now :(

  • I love my K'tan, and my husband now owns one too.  We both have Breezes.  After trying out mine, my sister got a regular Ktan, as she's further north and it doesn't get as hot.  It was so easy to use and I don't think I could have handled trying to wrap a Moby by myself.  DS is now 11 months and 24 lbs and I still use it.
