DH and I are using good ole condoms right now (which we both HATE) and I am afraid we will give in to the temptation to forgo them once in awhile (which has happened before). We do not want a 3rd right this minute.
I am BF and plan to till DD turns a year. I previously had an IUD which I disliked (and DH said he could feel)!! What are my other options? I have heard terrible things about the mini pill and I am planning on trying the nuva ring once I am done BF.
Any other ideas or options we have not thought of?
Thanks!
Re: Help with BC options while nursing
I had the copper and the DR said they were as short as they could go.
I had awful cramps and longggg periods with it as well.
THIS is a great website that helps explain the mini pill. I was on the Depo shot after DD. (I got off of it for baby #3)
I really liked Depo~ no period~ and I had no trouble nursing.
I had the same one and the same issues. DH could feel it for a few weeks and then it was better. But the issues I had were not pleasant. I had it until 10 months and then switched to the nuvaring while DD was still nursing. She nursed fine and I had no issues. She was nursing 4-5 times in 24 hrs then. I had it for 3 months an dthen TTC again. I liked it but I think it made me gain some weight and also my sex drive plumetted.
We used condoms and hated them. Make sure he is wearing the proper size, made a big difference in DH's comfort when we used them.
The mini pill turns me into a hormonal nut so I cant do that one either.
Im at a loss as well for this time around! I would try the nuvaring if your LO is older than 6 months. Its safe.
This is how I ended up lurking this board
...maybe that book would have come in handy!
