We're getting to the point of starting to make some lists, and need some help! I think some of the names we like may not be everyone's style, but that's ok. I'm taking all suggestions! Our last name is similar to "Flick", both DH & my names start w/ "K", so no "K" names please.
Some girls names we like: Octavia, Aurelie, Sylvie, Emmeline, Gwyneth
Some boys names we like: Zane, (A)Bram, Theodore, Mathias, Rory (mn will most likely be Gerard, it's a family name)
DS's name is Liam, which we love because of the family & heritage connections we have with it. HATE how poplar it is though. When we named him, the only Liam we knew was a friend of a friend from college! We've learned our lesson, and definitely want to stay away from top 25 or so.
Thanks so much ladies!
ETA: Gwyneth & Rory
Re: Need your Name Nerd powers of suggestion please
Since you want to stay away from popular names, I would avoid Emmeline, as I've been seeing it very frequently around here and other naming sites (seems to be the "new" Emily). I think that all of your boy's names are adorable, but have known several little boys named Zane recently. Your girl's names aren't really my style, but they aren't offensive by any means.
Maybe for girls:
Lydia
Portia
Valentina
Aurora
Serene/Serena
Allegra
June
Caprice
Boys: LOVE Abram & Zane!
Oliver
Turner
Jett
Asher
Davis
Harris/Harrison
Jonah
I know two Zane's born in the last few months, so I fear that one is getting more popular. I like all your other suggestions for boys, with Theodore being my favorite- and I love the nn Theo- Theo and Liam is such a cute sib set! Other suggestions:
Silas
Micah
Flynn
Quentin
Ian
Titus
Milo
Felix
Simon
Roman
Foster
Emmett
As for girls, I really like Sylvie. Octavia is okay, and I'm never sure how to pronounce Aurelie. I love Emmeline, but the Emme/Emma names are super popular right now. Other suggestions:
Ottilie
Aurora
Annelise
Lydia
Juliet
Beatrix
Antonia
Isadora
Isolde
Phoebe
Tabitha
Hazel
Estelle
Arabelle/Annabelle
Marcella
Corrine/ Coralie
Pearl
Lorelei
Imogen
I like your style. Do you like any of these?
Cosette, Mirabel, Rosalie, Isolde, Junia, Elsa, Gemma, Jessamine, Cordelia
Gideon, Vance, Samson, Wesley, Jude, Callum, Harris, Archer, Eamon
I love Sylvie but I don't know how it sounds with your last name. I think my second choice would be Gwenyth.
For boys I prefer Theodore and Mathias.
I adore Sylvie, and Octavia is one of those names I really like on someone else's kid (we discussed Octavian for a boy, though). Gwyneth is nice, soft, and lovely, and I like Emmeline (but don't like it's association with similar, popular names). Aurelie looks and sounds like areola to me; always has.
I love, love, love Abram/Bram. Such a great name! Matthias and Theodore are tied for a distant-ish second. Zane is ok and Rory is too feminine for my taste.
I like Aurelie, Emmeline, Gwyneth, Bram and Rory out of your names.
