Teething or ears?

I'll prob call the pedi in a bit anyway, but I thought I'd ask here first. Lo has always been a great sleeper (I swear I'm not bragging, we have had our challenges with other things).  For the last 3 nights he has started screaming in the middle of the night. He has also given us trouble going to sleep at night, which was never a problem. He is teething. The bottom 2 are in and the top two broke through last week. He is not pulling at his ears and no fever now. ( he does spike a fever with each tooth). My gut says I should get his ears checked, buti really have no reason to think that other than the waking up. Thoughts?

    We went to the pedi just in case it was ears for the same thing (DD was not sleeping at all), and it turned out to be teething, but I still felt better about getting it checked, if just for my own peace of mind. Either way, I hope he feels better very soon!

    My kids rarely get fevers from ear infections, the little one just got over one and never got above 99.  If he's sleeping like crap I'd get them checked.
