1st Trimester

Apparently I'm a man.

At my appt yesterday I asked the midwife if I should worry that my gummy vitamins don't have any iron in them. She said, "Actually, your blood work from a few weeks go show that your iron levels are like that of a strong adult man!" I was like, "And what the heck does that mean?" She said that it was pretty much perfect...as high as you can go.

She said, "You must eat a lot of beef." I said, "No.  I'm actually a vegetarian." Hahaha.  She said leafy greens can do the same thing.

  • Bully for you!

I remember a nurse telling me that she was jealous of how consistently awesome my blood pressure was throughout my pregnancy - it feels good to be told you're on the right track just by doing what you're doing already.

  • Funny how medical staff tell people that things our good.  As a vegetarian as well, my midwife wanted my Iron levels checked when I was pregnant with my first.  Her comment when the results came back was that "Your Iron levels are better than mine!"

  • So jealous, my 6 week bloodwork showed I was anemic.  Iron supplements for me.

  • That's awesome! Lol I am also taking gummy vitamins without iron and I went to go get some today! I don't eat a lot of beef... Some. And I have been REALLY bad about eating my leafy greens so I really needed the iron... Before my obgyn yells at me. :)
