I've heard of things like walking, doing chores, etc. like exercise could help, castor oil (yuck), nipple stimulation, and semen. Me and hubby are doing the sex thing. I also hear it won't do anything if your body isn't ready to go.
I swear nothing works! With DD #1 I tried everything...even bought castor oil...but before I was going to take it I went into labor on my own....thank goodness!
Aside from what the PP's suggested you can also try acupuncture/acupressure and nipple stim. I've tried both and neither worked. Sex hasn't worked either...
Raspberry leaf tea and eggplant! And massage the crap out of your feet and ankles (reflexology) My friends doc just told her today to stay away from the castor oil stuff because it'll make you poop all throughout your labor? LOL don't know if that's true haha.
Walking doesn't do it, lol. I've walked at least 24 miles (4 miles most nights with some friends) in the last week and I'm still pregnant. I'm not doing it to bring on labor, but if it could work, I would think it would have by now.
I was the same way-- I wanted to try everything before I had to go to the hospital to be induced-- So I walked (which sometime felt like 30 miles), did the sex thing, rasberry tea, you name it I was trying it! But in the end sadly nothing worked-- not at all trying to bring anyone down and coming from someone that hated hearing it and hated being told she will come when shes ready But she came when she was ready-- and even had to have some encouragement at that-- I feel like I had a great labor and birth and couldn't picture it any other way now! Congrats to all you mommas I know its exciting and nerve racking all at the same time!!!!

From what I have read, castor oil is absolutely NOT proven to induce anything except a BH so I would not recommend it
I will probably try more toward walking and staying physical but either way, I'm going in for induction at 39 1/2 weeks so I can't go too late!
