Hi all,
I just had my monthly appointment and was flying high: I passed the 1 hour glucose test, I'm one of those rare ones who isn't anemic, and they praised me on how well I've kept the weight gain under control. I was measured and the doc said I'm measuring about a week to a week and a half too small, and wants to do an ultrasound to check on the baby's growth. She said not to worry but of course I am anyway. Does anyone have experience with measuring too small? What came of it? Thanks....
Re: Measuring small?
I was told this too but then at my last u/s at 30 weeks she said he was just fine. I was even told I am measuring a week ahead. He doesnt weight a lot but apparently is very long.

My sister measured small with both of her girls all the way to the end- her belly never measured more than 36wks. Both girls were born healthy and weighing 7 and a half pounds!
Good luck at ultrasound!
Even though I've been measuring right where I should be, a few weeks back they had me come in to see the high risk OB b/c LO's abdomen was measuring small. They were concerned about his growth but then determined that he's perfectly fine, just slightly under the "normal" range, but not in the "small" range either. My husband jokes that LO must have my waistline!
Bottom line, try not to stress too much. Easier said than done, I know. But chances are everything will turn out just fine. GL!
I always measured small with my daughter and had lots of u/s to check growth. She would always be measuring fine and they would say "hmmmm, where is she hiding in there"
I'm sure everything is fine, they just have to be cautious. GL!
This. Two weeks ago, I was told I was measuring big, I had an U/S last week that showed DD weighed about 6 pounds, 10 ounces - which puts her in the 50% percentile - she cannot possibly be more average.
Even if you are measuring small, that could mean a)nothing at all, b)you'll have the easiest labor in the world or c)they may have been wrong about your due date. None of which is a reason to worry.
Right around week 35 with DD#1, they said I was measuring small. They did an ultrasound at the next appt (which is just mean to do to a very pregnant lady) and the tech estimated that she would end up at 7 lbs +/- .5 lbs.. she was 7 lbs 6 ounces and perfect! Try not to worry.
This is exactly what's going on with me. I was told it's the position of the baby, and my Dr is not at all worried.
