Re: Swaddle Me

  • Neither, it gets a "Meh" from me. We have to swaddle DS in a regular blanket then we put the swaddle me over that. (We live in a very drafty old house).

  • we have the lightweight cotton one and like it
  • Let me add that we tried to use the blanket by itself and DS can bust right out of it.
  • The first few weeks we used the SwaddleMe, and then I got a Halo Sleep Sack with the Swaddle attached.  The SwaddleMe did the job, but DD constantly kicked out of it.  With the Halo SleepSack, she can't kick out of it and she can't bust out of it as easily.

  • YAY!  It's my "can't-live-without" item. We have 2 (one fleece and one cotton knit). We also have the halo sleepsack with the swaddler - sometimes I just use the swaddler from it without the sleepsack part.

At $10, it's at least worth a try.

  • Ditto Pattypoundcake. ?Hadley could bust out of it so we swaddled her in a hospital blanket and then used the Swaddle Me. ?That worked pretty well until we stopped swaddling around 3 months. ?
  • Only for the first couple months. After that, DS HATED it b/c he hates having his arms constricted.
  • Personally, this is one item that I am REALLY glad we have. We have 3 of the regular fabric ones and one fleece. I have not had good luck with the fleece, though, because it's slippery and I've gone into her room to see it up over her face after she's been squirming. We now only that one only for during the day when we have our eye on her.
I love them! As pp said, they are pretty cheap, so maybe just try one and see how it goes...
  • I was told by a friend that it sucked and it didn't work.  We thought DS didn't like to be swaddled at all.  DH's co worker said nothing else worked with their DD so we decided to try it.  WHAT a GREAT product!  DS is a wiggler and moves A LOT and if not in this he wakes himself up by slapping himself or knocking his paci out.  We have 2 cotton and 1 fleece one.  DS is a hot baby though so we just put him in a s/s onsie and socks with the swaddleme and that's it.  Sometimes he'll get overheated in the fleece one.
  • LOVE IT. Weve been using one with DD 2, and I wish I had with DD 1!

  • I wish yay since DS startles all the time in his sleep....but it's a nay.  He's hated having his arms pinned down from day one...and has managed to bust out of the swaddlme & the Halo sleepsack every time.  He'll cry and grunt until his arms are worked free.

  • Thought I liked it until I bought a Miracle Blanket.  That was a life saver, it literally pinned her arms to her side and she would sleep forever in it.  The swaddle me just collected lint in the dryer on the velcro parts and drove me crazy.
  • Nay - we use Aden & Anais swaddling blankets.  The XL size is great for a tight swaddle that cannot be broken out of - plus they can have other uses once ds doesn't need to be swaddled anymore
