I have no clue what has changed in the last couple of weeks with my 8 month old. He is sooo fussy and I assume he is teething but he isn't drooling and trying to chew everything like he did with his first two teeth. He has become so clingy, not separation anxiety so much, but just the need to be held by anyone! He fights sleep (naps and bedtime). He tends to fall asleep as we are walking him (that seems to be all that works these days) and we put him in his crib - only to have him wake up a couple hours later crying. He won't go back to sleep and flame me if you must, but I eventually give up and move him to our bed where he pretty much goes back to sleep immediately. He moves and turns all night long, but atleast he is asleep and not crying. I am starting to feel like a failure for not being able to make him happy. I know I am not the perfect mom for giving in and doing things that aren't by the book!.....................but these last couple of weeks have been so tough!!! Is there anyone out there dealing with this too?

Re: Who is this 8 month old? (Also posted on 6-9 months)
I think I remember reading something about this age making them very aware of when you leave them and they start getting more clingy...but its totally normal and will pass.
We are going through something similar at night where DS just won't sleep by himself past 2 am....No flames here. You just do the best you can. I hope this phase passes quickly!
