Anyone ever try oil pulling?

I just heard of this, and I'm skeptical that it can do everything that some people claim that it can do (ie, cure cancer, etc.).  However, I'm curious if anyone here has ever tried it and has any thoughts on the general impact.

    I tried it briefly with Sunflower seed oil a few years back.  Didn't do it long enough to really gather anything from it, tho.

    I did it once or twice. It was just too time consuming for me to do it on a consistent basis. It was kind of gross too in my own opinion.

    A friend of mine does it and swears by it. She has a spoon of coconut oil on her nightstand lol

    Yes  I know, right?  This was why I asked.  I ran across it on a natural living blog, and it made me curious.  15-20min a day though?

    I did it once and while my mouth did feel clean afterwards, I gagged no less than 12 times during the twenty minutes.

    To find the time, I double up and do it while in the shower.  Of course, once LO comes, long showers will be non-existant, so I'll have to come up with a new plan.  LOL!  I've always used organic sesame oil (the same stuff I rub on after my shower). I thought it would make me gag, but it really never has....which says a lot.
