I just saw the commercial for the movie and it looks really dumb, but I have heard that the books are awesome. I may give the books a chance though (if I ever got a minute to myself to read, so it may be years from now) since I thought the same thing about Twilight. The movies were terrible so I didnt't read the books until last year, and I ended up loving them.
You're going to read them and immediately be all hyped up to run outside and start some sort of uprising/revolution.
Incredible.

I agree, the commercials for the movies do suck. I guess it's hard to advertise for a movie about kids killing other kids with their bare hands at the entertainment of our government.
Hard to market that.

I'm insulted you compared the two. Seriously, they're nothing alike.

There are three books, and they are fast reads. I read them all in just over a week. They are hard books to put down! I would recommend reading them. I can tell you the story is set in a post-apocalyptic future with an authoritarian government, but that doesn't sound exciting at all - and the story is gripping!

I just read the first book of the series which is the hunger games and loved it. I finished it that day (long car ride lol) the movie looks pretty decent so i am hoping hubby and i will be able to go and see it.
I loved them! The first book of the series is by far the best IMO. I was somewhat disappointed with the ending of the series, it seemed like a cop-out. But I won't go into further details. I can't wait for the movie either!

I completely agree. The third seemed really rushed and I wished the author had stretched it to four books.

If you see the movie before you read them, don't judge the books based on the movie. The books are INCREDIBLE. The movie will probably pale in comparison, but I'm still excited about seeing it.
Re: Hunger Games
Amazing, you will be hooked.
I love love love the series. I'm game for almost all fantastical fiction (I say almost because I would like to burn the Twilight series).
I'm excited to see the movie come out it looks decent.
It's a young adult/teen book but I know plenty of adults who have enjoyed reading them.

I hated twilight, so it's better than that?

Sorry to insult. I was just curious since they become popular so quickly.
