Lunch

Im having trouble figuring out what to give DD for lunch. Breakfast and dinner seem to be so easy but lunch ive always had a problem with even for me!

Not sure if this is normal but what i have been doing it just giving her about 5 different things for lunch (ex. cheese, grapes, cherrios, noodles, mango was her lunch yesterday) and it doesnt seem like a meal it seems like a whole bunch of finger foods/snacks combined. So i really have no clue what to give her for lunch.

Could you let me know what lunch food you feed your LO and/or snacks if you feel like adding that in would be great! TIA

Re: Lunch

  • DD eats at DC 5 days/wk so I'll cheat and look at the menu:

turkey/cheese on wheat, applesauce, chix patty, mashed potatoes, peaches, bean & chz burrito, corn, mandarin oranges, hamburger, baked beans, baked french fries, grilled cheese, taco salad (everything but no lettuce), chix & rice casserole, gr beans, turkey sloppy joes, spaghetti, chz quesadilla, mixed vegis, peas

  • Sandwiches are a big hit in our house.  He loves grilled cheese sandwiches and anything with cold cuts, too.

  • I do..

Cheese sandwich, Ham sandwich, grilled cheese, mac n cheese and put green beans in it, yoghurt, chicken tenders (which I sometimes bread the chicken with breadcrumbs myself) I give fruit too, animal crackers, and gold fish!

I also blend up food during the week with meat and veggies then freeze in ice cube trays. This is a quick way of me knowing she got something nutritious if she is 'starving!' although been spoon fed is now almost a thing of the past for miss independent!

  • DS is Mr Independent these days, so it's all stuff he can handle himself.

He likes shredded chicken, peanut butter sandwhiches (sometimes with left over purees), chicken tenders, hamburgers, mac n cheese.

For side dishes he gets any fruit cut up, peas, carrots, beans, green peppers, cucumbers, shredded cheese

For snacks, he likes cheerios (which he calls yum yums), veggie straws, fruit, graham crackers
