I put the full birth story in my blog, so I won't go in to too much
detail here (blog link in sig), but Ashley Margaret was born on
February 29th at 5:29 in the morning. She weighed 7lbs and 15 ounces.
I
was induced on the 28th due to hypertension caused by the pregnancy.
The induction, labour and delivery all went really well despite them
having to get Ashley out quick at the end due to her heart rate
dropping. They used the vacuum and forceps to get her out fast, and I
tore, so recovery has been difficult. I honestly felt very little pain
throughout the whole thing and got the EPI on time. I was terrified of
being induced, but honestly, it was all fine. The hospital I delivered
at was on top of absolutely everything. We were only in the hospital
for a day, and we went home early since everything was fine.
We
had a couple of rough go of things the first couple of nights because
baby was cluster feeding to try and bring my milk in. I lucked out with
milk coming in on day 3, and since that's happened, I've been able to
get about 4 hours of sleep a night, which I think is really good!
We're settling in to things now, and I'm starting to integrate regular
daily things in to my routine, such as knitting and stuff. I'm
anxiously waiting for warmer weather to be able to go walk around
outside, as I'm getting a little stir crazy indoors.
Anyway,
I'd like to introduce baby Ashley with a picture that I took of her
this morning. DH and I are very very much in love with our little
girl. (I should also mention that DH has been a dream husband since
she's been born. He's so supportive, he's just amazing!!)
