So this is what I hear from the back seat after school today. Apparently there was an iPad for sale at the book sale at school today. I didn't see that one coming. I was like, "Um, yeah, I'd like one too, but I don't think that's going to happen."
This stuff sure starts early.

And all I could think when reading your post was: "Can you pick one up for me too while you're at it?"

Sadly my response to things like this is often either "you can ask for it for your birthday or Christmas" or "I can't afford to buy that for you right now" or "You're not quite old enough for that yet. Maybe when you're older we'll revisit it."
Sadly his response to "I can't afford that for you right now." is almost always "I have LOTS of money! I can buy it!"
We've got to do some work on educating them about money, spending, savings, etc. My 5 yr old thinks he's mister money bags....
