I keep waiting to get a huge belly, but it hasn't happened so far (27 weeks). People just started realizing that I'm pregnant within the past week and a half, and when they hear I'm just about 7 months with twins, they are surprised.
I have an ultrasound this week, and I hope it shows both babies are growing. My last one at almost 24 weeks showed each baby a little over a pound. I've gained a little under 20 pounds, 2 of which have been since the last U/S.
Are the next 2 months when you gained the most weight? I keep thinking its coming, it just hasn't happened yet.
Re: Anyone not get huge?
Define "huge"? I gained 47 pounds. I went to 38.5 weeks. I don't think that's "huge" but, yes, with two babies weighing well over 6 lbs each, two sacs of fluid, two cords, etc. I was big.
I know people who are small like I am that only gained 30 lbs, but they were still very big. You have two babies in your belly. Looking abnormally large, regardless of gain, is kind of inevitable.

I'm not trying to be offensive using the term huge. I know 3 people who have had twins and they all were pretty big, understandably, from about 5 months on.
I guess I expected to be a lot larger and more uncomfortable than I am. I'm also trying not to get too nervous that it means the babies are too small.

My blog * We made the national news!
well im huge. im 33w1d and ive only gained 17 pounds...and my starting weight was 126 at 5'7. and my belly. is. huge. it looks so totally different as compared to the very end at 39 weeks when i was pregnant with my son. i didnt start showing with this pregnancy until 14/15 weeks, like i did with my son, but already at 18 weeks you could very much visibly tell i was expecting...whereas with my son at 18 weeks i may have just looked like i ate too much.
i cant believe how huge ive gotten, even in the past 7 days. everyone has commented on the growth in such a small amount of time.
im sure it's just different for everyone...dont worry, you will be amazed at the growth at 30 weeks +.
I wonder the same thing
I'm only 5 foot tall though, so no long torso for me. It is what it is, as long as I end up with healthy babies, I should quit worrying about it. Its tough to do when I hear about it all the time
uh...yeah.
and many people think 5'7 (my height) is on the taller side for women....i have long legs but my torso is super short. i dont have a long torso at all, it's very square/boxy. so the height thing really hasnt helped me out a whole lot : )

My Blog!
craziness - just craziness! you looked GREAT though.
I think I had gained about 28 lbs by that point. I got my first stranger comment as early as 14w but fwiw I have a short torso and I also don't have the strongest abs (I heard you tend to show later if you have strong abs, which makes sense). I followed Dr. Luke's recs starting around 12-14w though so I was aiming to gain more early on in case they came early. Hope all is well with you and your LOs! All women carry differently so I'd try not to worry (I know, easier said than done).
Oh and I should add, until I was maybe 30w or so, I did get people telling me, "You're not that big for twins." I took that with a grain of salt though since I was measuring 8 weeks ahead for the last several months.

Thankful for every day
I gained 40lbs total and had my two at 34w2d, they were smaller but I had about 8lbs of baby total. I carried very well, I'm normally about 139, 5'6" with a very long torso so many people did not believe I had two but I was 179 the day I delivered. I'm 10 days out and down to 153 so it's like the babies fell off haha. I'm very lucky that I did not get any stretch marks considering i have them from growing on my hips too. I figure besides the beautiful babies I received God gave me a break considering I had every imaginable problem you could have during a pregnancy with my insides...

Baby Girl #3!
I gained 50 lbs and had 15 1/2 lbs of baby in the end. I think my belly would fall under the huge category.
ETA: I thought it was cute until 28-30 weeks, then it got uncomfortable, then it got ridiculous!
I gained 34 pounds total... all in the belly.

People tell me I am all belly...I have gained over 30 so far. (I will find out how much over at my appt. today.) I consistently gained 6 pounds in Jan. and Feb. each. I have a long torso and am 5'7", so I am hoping I can continue to carry well.
I wrote a blog post last night with pics if you want to see me at 30 weeks:

Boy/girl twins born at 37w1d and 37w2d
I didn't get much bigger than with my singleton pregnancy (I did deliver 3 weeks earlier though). I felt bigger and was much more uncomfortable, but when I look at comparison pics, I look about the same.
I gained 46lbs total. I'm tall (5'7") and was all belly. Most people had no idea I was carrying twins.

It may be just that you have more petite babies (not too small just petite). At 25 weeks my babies were just under 2 pounds each. I'm definitely big. I was also measuring at 36 weeks at 25 weeks. As long as your doctor doesn't express concern then I don't think you should worry.
