I know the age range is pretty big on here..but if you have a LO that is getting close to 24 months, how long do they nap? DD is 23months only takes one nap in the afternoon now and she was sleeping for 2 hours. But all of a sudden when she came down with a cold last week she started only sleeping 1 hour. Now that she's not sick anymore she won't sleep more than 1 hour-1hour15mins.
I'm just wondering how typical this is, even though I know each LO is different. Just curious. TIA.
Re: How long does your LO nap?
Haha, wow!!
DS is 21 months and he sleeps for anywhere from 90 minutes (short for him) to 3.5 hours (which is max and we then wake him up so he'll sleep at night) on weekends, depending on how tired he is. At daycare he goes down around 12:30 and sleeps til about 2:30, which is when naptime's over. We try to emulate that schedule on weekends but we let him sleep more than 2 hours if he needs it.
Last week, with his surgery, he woke up a lot during the night so his naps were longer.
This exactly. Usually I get ONE 45 minute session. The rest are just me praying for him to sleep and his screaming and throwing fits. I've tried CIO. Doesn't work. My child just does not need sleep.

My BFP Chart
DD is 17 months and naps around 2 to 2 1/2 hours everyday. Sometimes it ends up a little less (1 1/2 hours) or a little more (3 hours).
She used to take 2 naps for 1 1/2 to 2 hours each day and switched to one nap around 15 months.
Mine dropped his nap completely at 18 months. It sucks, but in all honesty, it made our life better. Before he dropped his nap, it was taking him 45min to an hour to fall asleep for his nap and another 45 minutes to an hour to fall asleep at night. It was ridiculous. He just wasn't tired enough to fall asleep.
Now he plays hard all day and happily falls asleep in 10ish minutes at about 6:30pm. He usually sleeps 12 (occasionally 13) hours at night. When he was napping, he was only getting 11 hours at night, so I figure he's coming out about even.
He dropped down to one nap from two at 10 months. He's always fought sleeping, even as a newborn.
DS does 45 min in the morning and 1.5 hours afternoon.
DD does 2-2.5 hours in the afternoon (but was the same as DS at his age)
My LO has not taken two naps in one day since she was like 5 months old... and those were short!
Now, she sleeps about 45min-1 hour a day total. I can't even imagine her sleeping 2 hours during the day. I would probably wake her up to see if she didn't have a concussion or something!
However, she has always slept 12-13 hours a night solid.
