We have decided on a name for our baby girl-- Maizey/Maisie. We just can't agree on the spelling but also do not want her to be called "Macy" and always have to correct people that her name is "z" not "c" What do you think?
Maize is corn. Please don't name your daughter the equivalent of Corn-y. Maisie is the correct/traditional spelling. I actually don't think you'll get many people pronouncing it Macy.

This. I see Maiz-- and think corn. So please don't Maizie or Maizey. Maisie is the way to go!
Her middle name will be Scout. We had picked Scout way before we were pregnant. We were just going through baby names and never found anything we liked then we stumbled upon Maisie and instantly knew that would be our baby girl's name. Thanks so much for all the replies. It really helps getting honest opinions rather than people we know who try to give the answer they think we want.
Can I be honest? First of all, a friend's daughter is Mayzie (I think that's how they spell it, but I'm not sure.) I think it's a very cute name for a little girl. Very cute. But I think it's one of those names that is cute for little girls but just doesn't work for adults. If you met an adult named Mayzie (or Maisie or whatever spelling) would you be able to take her seriously? Would you go to a Dr. Maisie? Would you vote for a Maisie for President? I just think it's a name that's so cute-sy that you can't help but think of a little girl in curls and pigtails and parents sometimes forget that their child is only going to be a child for a few years but will be an adult for a really long time. Kids need a name they can grow into. Anyway, that's just my opinion and you don't even know me, but I guess when you post questions asking people's opinions you're going to get it!

I'm almost 25 and my name to everyone is still Kimmy. It's all I've ever been called by both family/friends and how I introduce myself. I have NEVER had a problem with people taking me seriously. Yes, with my name I could go with Kimberly but haven't and nobody has ever said a thing about it.
Re: Maizey/Maisie Spelling help!!!
May-Z.
No, just kidding! I like Maisie. The Z looks weird.
I am not sure how you want it pronounced b/c I've seen Macy, Maci (which is cute), Macee, Macie, etc....
Maybe Mazie?
Then, ME personally, I'd pick Mazie...I think it is the safest, and has the fewest vowels of your options, lol:)
And the spelling with the 's' appears a bit confusing and will most likely cause ppl to mispronounce it as Macy.
Good luck:)
I totally agree. Maisie is May-zee.
I think most people know the correct pronunciation of Maisie. You'll probably have more issues spelling it oddly.
Love the name, btw.

I would spell it like the children's book character.
Maizey reminds me of corn (Maize - y).
My answer to your questions is yes.
Anyway, I like Maisie, Maisy is ok too.
this is cute. like Daisy. otherwise i like Maizie.
