? For those who have done CIO with their 22 month old or so...

DD still doesn't sleep through the night. Maybe once every 3 weeks we will get lucky and she will, but for the most part she is up around 1:30-2:30 every single night. I have been giving her a sippy of milk and she sucks it down in less than 3 minutes. I've tried giving water and cutting back on the amount but that doesn't work. Once she has the milk, I can put her back down awake and she goes right back to sleep.

With baby number 2 almost here, I need to get her to sleep through the night for my sanity. How did CIO work for you? Did you go in there after a certain amount of time and just soothe? tell me your experience as I'm ready to try it. She is in a bed but rarely gets out of it till the morning....

  • If she is sucking down a sippy of milk....she is likely thirsty! Try upping her liquid intake during the day and see if that helps with the nighttime waking.

  • You would think that based on how fast she drinks it, but she won't drink water and has a close to 60oz of liquid a day. Her pedi says that is more than enough. Its a catch 22 with the liquids too, if she has too much towards the end of the day she will wake up because her diaper is full in the middle of the night and wants it changed. We are starting to work on potty training but I don't see her being potty trained at night anytime in the near future.

  • 60 oz of liquid a day?! Has she been tested for diabetes? Seriously, I am graduating with my nurse practitioner degree in May and that is sending a huge red flag to me!
