Aiden one week updates

Well my little man is a week old today. I can not believe it. He is looking so good today. I had a great time in the NICU with him today. We got to kangaroo for about an hour and a half. They upped his feeds to 18cc of breast milk every 3 hours...his tpn is down to 3.2cc/hr and lipids are still at 0.2cc/hr. 

His main focus right now is to gain weight. He is still holding his own on room air, doing great.

He is on his 6th IV in 7 days...kinda bums me out, but they are hoping he wont need an IV much longer...they are praying he won't need a central line but he is a little bugga and does not like them.

Tonight when we go in, we will weigh him and do his bath at 8pm. I am excited to see how much he has gained. I am hoping we get back to his birth weight soon.

    He looks adorable! Enjoy every last second of k-care. Eventually, they just push you away. :)

    I'm sorry that Aiden is having such a hard time with his IVs.  When you get TPNs through a peripheral IV the IVs don't last as long since that and the lipids are harder on the veins than other drugs and fluids. 

    Is he having a lot of residuals when they check it before they give him his next oral feed? Hopefully they'll increase his feeds and be off the TPN soon.
