1. Having a reason to escape from visitors and go have DS to myself for awhile. (just kidding - well, kinda!)
2. Having the snuggle time with my little guy and knowing that it will make him happy and well fed.
Married 08.06 Started TTC 05.08 Me: Stage II endo, borderline high FSH DH: perfect 1 lap, 5 IUIs = 4 BFNs and 1 c/p 2 IVFs, 2 FETs = 1 BFN, 1 c/p, 1 ectopic and finally a sticky BFP in May 2011!
No bottles to prep/clean/pack when we go out. My diaper bag has diapers, and it's tiny. At night, I can prop my feet up on the recliner, give DD a boob, and have both hands free to surf the Internet, watch tv, eat, whatever. No matter how upset she is, she's instantly calmed by nursing. No amount of rocking, pacing or pacifier could do the job that quickly.
It is an all-purpose mothering tool. When she's hungry, I nurse her. Tired? nurse. Fell and bumped her head? Nurse. I can calm her anytime, anywhere.
This! DH calls them magic boobs.
Also, my DD is pretty petite (around the 10th percentile) but I still love seeing her little belly and little chunk around the thighs and know that I did that.
The amazing bonding experience I feel w/ her b/c of BFing. I didn't BF my first and bonding took a little while longer. But this time I felt it right away b/c of BFing.
I am the sole nutritional provider for her. Not DH. Not anyone else. He calls out to me when she is hungry and I secretly love that. That I can provide her w/ something that nobody else can.
All the cuddle time we get. We all get in bed in the evening, DD nurses and falls asleep, and we watch some shows together. I can't imagine a thing I'd rather be doing!
Freedom. BFing has allowed me to continuing enjoying things I used to enjoy pre-baby with minimal hassle of toting around bottles and whatnot. Not to mention the relative ease of nighttime feedings.
That I've turned my 3.5lbs preemie into a chuck-a-saurus!
And it makes for the best cuddles...
I'm glad that I'm not the only one bumping/surfing/watching tv while LO nurses to sleep at night!
BFP#1 9/14/10 (EDD 5/21/11); no fetal pole 6w6d, 7w4d, d&c 10/8 BFP#2 3/16/11, beta 138; 4/12 Baby/HB DS born 9/10/11 at 29w4d due to partial abruption and PTL BFP#3 8/19/13 Another boy! 17P, modified bedrest and Nifedipine helped us have a termie! DS2 born 4/19/14 at 38w5d.
1) The immunity I've created! He hasn't been sick once since he was born even though DH and I both have.
2) I feel so empowered and powerful (those are 2 different things, right?). It's like everything about my body just makes sense and I feel so much stronger and beautiful and capable.
My favorite part about EBF is our bond!!! it is so awesome she sees me and her eyes light up!!! I am all that matter : ), the health benifits, no bottles to wash/clean/carry, night feedings are super easy!!! I feel so blessed to know i could EBF for almost 8 months already. I plan longer my goal is 1 yr but if we can go longer i will : )
Hard to pick just one! At this point in our nursing relationship, it's probably his last nursing of the day. I love nursing DS to sleep at night...he's so active and on the go these days and I really treasure that quiet, cuddle time with him.

1 FET in Aug 2013 = BFP!
Where do I begin?
I guess my answer is: it allows me to be lazy

Oh, there's health benefits, too, I've heard
BFP #3 via cancelled IUI ~ C (2lb 3oz; HELLP) 5/16/11
BFP #4 via the natural (free!) way ~ E (8lb 11oz) 9/13/12
the boob is the best babysitter! Like pp said, I can be lazy and put my feet up and surf the internet for a good portion of the evening.
This! DH calls them magic boobs.
Also, my DD is pretty petite (around the 10th percentile) but I still love seeing her little belly and little chunk around the thighs and know that I did that.
I love the cute little noises that she only makes when nursing!
She'll be 2 weeks tomorrow, btw - I haven't been on the computer to update my siggy
It's free
Also how it can make anything better in her world. Just got shots, bumped head, not feeling good? Have a boob, life is good again.
House / Baby blog
.. giving her the best nutrition possible. Being able to control what I'm feeding her, making sure my diet is appropriate to feed a baby.
.. being able to soothe her pretty much anytime. Very rarely has she been inconsolable. I give her a boob and she's happy.
.. always being able to have cuddle time with her, even when we're around a lot of family or having a busy day.
This for sure.

This and that I can be self-congratulatory: "she's twice her birth weight! yep, ALL ME!! yahoo!"
