eye color

Has your LOs eye color changed yet? If so, when did it? DS is pretty much 8 months and still has gray eyes.

I have brown eyes and DH has hazel.  I was wondering if and when they will change?  I know they say up to a yr for change, but do they usually change before that?

  • Saoirse was born with dark blue eyes that have gradually gotten lighter as she was grown. Sometimes they look green, like mine, but I think it depends on the light and what she is wearing. Most likely they will stay blue because DH's entire family has blue eyes and my whole family does too, I'm the only one with green eyes.

  • DS was born with blue/gray eyes, and now they are bright blue.  I think they are here to stay, along with his light blonde hair (which was exactly how DH looked at that age).  My poo brown eyes did not get passed onto him :) LOL

It looks like G is going to have blue eyes. My husband has blue and I have hazel. Overall, I think she is going to have my husband's coloring....fair skin, lighter hair color, and blue eyes.

  • Lena has blue eyes, but we knew she would from Day 1. Genetically, two blue eyed people cannot produce anything but a blue eyed baby :)

This exactly. There are a lot of hazel eyes in my family, so I wouldn't be surprised.

However, in certain lights, her eyes look blue like my husband's, which also wouldn't surprise me because she has a lot of his features. I think we have to wait a while to really know, but I doubt they will be brown like mine.

  • DDs changed a long time ago, I really don't remember when. They're brown now

  • They have been blue all along, they are lighter than at birth. I hope they stick. Dh has green/brown and I have brown.

  • We still can't figure out how LO has blue eyes.  Both DH and I have dark brown eyes, but MIL has blue.  They seem to be sticking around though, which I love.

This is funny.  DH's grandmother, when she found out I was pregnant, said all she wanted was a brown eyed, baby boy.  She always compliments on DS's "brown" eyes and when someone has mentioned they are blue, she says no, he is my brown eye, baby boy.  :)

  • DD has had blue eyes ever since she was born. I thought they might fade, but they seem to keep getting brighter and brighter!

  • Neither boys eyes have changed.  DS1 was born with dark brown eyes and they stayed dark brown.  DS2 was born with blue eyes and they are still blue.  DH has dark brown and I have hazel.
  • When little Ricky was born he had these beautiful dark blue eyes.  I have hazel/green/brown eyes and DH has brown eyes.  We still can't tell what his eyes are going to be.  Sometimes they look brown.   Sometimes they look purple.  Sometimes they still look that deep blue.  So who knows!

  • I got the 35w email saying baby's eyes are pretty set by now. DD's are still blue (like both grandmas), but I had blue until my 2nd birthday and then they turned a brownish hazel.

Two brown eyed parents have a 25% chance of having a blue eyed baby. (I really was interested in this aspect of genetics for some reason!)
