Not doing well with solids..

I recently started baby on solids. She has 7 ounces of milk every 3 hours and at around 5:30pm I give her about 2 ounces of solids. She's had greens and orange). it doesn't seem as fun as I though it would be. When I first started about a month ago baby would eat the gerber ones just fine but now she doesn't seem to like the gerber ones or even the ones I make at home. She cries and cries while eating. She drinks her milk without a problem but when it comes to eating it's a completely different story. What can be going on?

    How old is she? When I first tried solids LO had zero interest so we stopped. We just started back this week and he is very interested. I would just wait and see until LO shows an interest.

    She is 5 months olds...The strange thing is that she opens her mouth and eats it. I think she wants it but she doesn't want to work for it.

    I could've written your post! Seriously.  Down to how much and often my daughter is eating and everything.

     And right now, DD is kind of sick - she's stuffy, and sneezy, but no fever or anything - and I think she's teething.  I think that it's just coincidental that she's dealing with those things around the same time we're starting solids.  She didn't have solids tonight, because she's had such a bad day and week with the teething and being sick, and it just seemed like too much for her today.  We had a rough day, both of us.

    I guess that's to say - probably just don't push solid just yet.  I don't know, that's just what we're doing, so it's the only advice I have.  They're still young to start solid food and they have their whole lives to eat.  Smile

    Hope you're little one gets well soon! The baby has also been teething..This might also be it. I'm going to give it a brake and see if when I restart again she seems more interested.

    I tried cereal and DD cried every time. Then I tried sweet potatoes and she loved it. I just tried banana's today and she cried for 5 minutes. I went and got sweet potatoes and she was happy again.

    My 5 1/2 mo doesn't do well with solids, either.  It's only our 5th day, but she's had squash and sweet potatoes.  I can't tell if she doesn't like the taste or if she's not ready.  As soon as she starts to fuss/cry, I take her out of the high chair.  I don't want her to associate frustration with the high chair or eating.  How old is your LO?  Could you stop with solids for a week or so and then try again?

    I've read that solids before a year old are really just for fun. If baby is interested, go for it. My ped told us not to stress if she isn't into solids before that time.
