I have a friend that is preggo with #3. Her first she delivered at about 36 weeks. I don't think she had much of it then maybe the start of it. Baby #2 she started to develop symptoms around 22 weeks and had it def by around 26 weeks and delivered at 30 weeks. Has anoyone ever had and then not had it, or do you normally have it again in the next pregnancy?
Re: Pre-eclampsia
I had it with my DD. It was diagnosed at PIH at 28 weeks. I had DD at 34 weeks after 2 weeks of bedrest.
I am carefully monitoring my BP this time around and watching for signs of swelling.
From what I have been told there is still a 50/50 chance of getting it. I have heard both sides. If you get it once you get it again. I have also heard the chances of having it again are slim.
This was exactly my DD. She was 3lbs 14 oz and needed help eating. She came home 16 days later at almost 5 lbs!
I had it with both my boys. Mild with my first, delievered at 38 weeks and severe with my second, delivered at 35 weeks. This time around no signs!
I have heard you have a 30% of getting again but after having it twice you are likely to have it again. So I guess I've heard it both ways.
With DD#1 I started to have issues with my blood pressure around 28 weeks (although my last OB) didn't seem to care. It wasn't until my 33 week appointment that I was admitted to the hospital. I delivered my DD at 33w 4d.
I'm now pregnant w/#2 and I started to get high bp reading around 30 weeks, but my new doctor has been monitoring me closely since 16 weeks. Just this week I was put on bed rest for ptl and high blood pressure. I'm currently on procadia. Hoping I can make it to 35 weeks before delivering this little one.
