How many pairs of toddler training underwear?

I am planning on starting to potty train DS next week. I am ordering his training pants online (Gerber). I also bought plastic Dapi pants to cover them. I plan on having him wear this during the day and pull-ups when we go out to save money on the cost of pull-ups. Anyway, about how many pairs of the Gerber training underpants should I order? Would six be sufficient. I'm leaning towards about 9.

    Honestly, we only had 3.  When she was ready she didn't need them, and when she wasn't ready there was no way she was going to potty train.

    DD is only in her 2nd week of PT, but we have like 12 pairs and go through them in 2-3 days (DD still isn't pooping on the potty and has an occasional pee leakage).

    This basically. I bought a pair, but we didn't need them at all.

    When she was ready, we had maybe 4 accidents total.

    If she's not ready, no amount of training undies will help. Assumming one accident a day at the start, you just do laundry for a couple of weeks until they get the hang of it.

    I wouldn't go with pull ups when you leave the house, because then they can just hold it until the pull up comes on.
