Re: Friday fives - pet peeves

  • 1- When I ask for a yes or no answer from DH and he gives me a "sure"

2- People (MIL, sil) that feel soo comfortable in my house and feel they can go through my mail, or open drawers, fridge (Go ahead invite yourself to my stuff ggrr)-->and for this I am sooo glad I live 17 hrs away from them!

3- When DH leaves the wet towels on the floor

4-When anyone tells me what they think is wrong with DD (when she was about 8 weeks old, I was at my moms and my cousins wife was telling me DD was hungry because she was fussing- NO she is  not hungry- she just ate, she was fussy because there were like 5 kids running around and she wasn't used to all the people and noise)

5- leaving the lights on in a room while you are not in there

Some of these have happened in the last week so they are fresh :)

  • 1. Someone blowing their nose at the table.

    2. Tailgating. Driving too closely, not what you do before a football game.

    3.  When someone rolls their eyes.

    4.  When someone leaves me three squares or less of toliet paper.

    5. When someone smacks while they eat. Or eats with their mouth open.

ggrr!! DH did this this week too!! What is his deal! It's for this reason I have like 10 rolls of TP in the cabinet right next to the bowl.

  • 1. When people are late(and I mean more than 15 min late).

    2. Dirty kid faces(Not like they just ate a piece of chocolate... more like they have dirt and food from breakfast 5 hours ago stuck on their face).

    3. When DH leaves every single cupboard/drawer he used open in the morning after he has breakfast.

     4. When people post 5 times a day complaining about how depressing/boring their lives are on FB. Well do something about it!

    5. When people dont watch their kids at the park(or anywhere else for that matter). Today a 5 or 6 year old girl was shaking my DD on this horse thing at the park. Her mom was on her cell phone for like 30 min and was totally ignoring her DD. I had to step in to tell her to stop.... really annoying.

  • ... and I only get five? I'll have to come back to this later.
  • 1. people who are mean to waiters and waitresses. If they're not living up to expectations, be an adult about it.

    2. inane facebook posts. Really, you just woke up, no kidding its the morning.

    3. surprise parties are awkward. Always.

    4. road rage is senseless. I've been pissed off before but swerving, being wreckless and yelling with a 4,000 pound weapon, really?

    5. young girls posting revealing, provacative pictures on facebook. Don't you have mothers? Aren't you friends with them? Oh, yeah that's the problem they want to be your "friend". Message to said mothers - grow a pair and parent.

  • 1) People that don't understand the difference between your/you're, their/there/they're, to/too/two - you get the point. (I might occasionally slip up, but at least I KNOW what one I am supposed to use.) 2) When the cap is left off of the toothpaste, the toothpaste tube is squeezed in an unproductive manner, and especially when there is toothpaste in the sink. 3) When my EX always asked me where his things were. "Where is my belt?" "Where are my sneakers?" You are an adult, I am not your mother - find your own crap! 4) The word "funner." It is not a word. Enough said. 5) I don't know if this qualifies as a pet peeve, but I hate when people use ketchup on foods that I believe shouldn't have ketchup: eggs, macaroni and cheese, hot dogs, chicken nuggets, for example

  • 1. my in-laws. They count as a pet peeve because everything irritates me about them.

    2. DH leaving his coats, shoes, socks, hoodies, etc. where ever he wants...its like a trail behind him.

    3. self-absorbed people.

    4. liars. I never undersand why people don't tell the truth. What is the point?!  I hate lies!!

    5. I hate tailgaiters too... I've been rear ended a few times, so I definitely have a phobia.

Ummm, this list could go on.  It should be at least the "Friday Tens"

  • 1. Dog hair.  And before anyone flames me, I have an inside dog, and grew up with several dogs inside, but I hate seeing it, on the floors, furniture, etc.

    2.  When people throw food in the sink while cooking.  I don't know why but it really grosses me out.

    3.  Smacking food, holy cow it makes me want to scream!

    4.  I second the PP about the lights being on when no one is in the room; DH does this all the time!

    5.  When people think I don't work.  I watch 3 under 3; take my day today.  The older two have a stomach virus and DS is teething; don't ask me when I am going to get a real job.  Grrrr.... sorry, that just grinds my gears!

    2) Typing you as "u"

    3)  Whistling

    4)  Slow drivers in the left lane

  •  Wow let see.

    1. Toddlers with pacifiers, especially when they are talking.

    2. Screeching. Not screaming that is ok, but a high pitch squeal.

    3. Spandex

4.Not wearing a bra in public. I don't need to see that.

    5. Pants with words on the butt. If it says sexy across your a$$ you probably aren't.

  • 1) When certain people have 5 cats and don't clean their litter box enough so there is frickin cat poop on the floor in the living room and the BABY room. My kid crawls in there! AH! (By certain people you may have realized I mean the ILs. I love them, but seriously...)

    2) I agree with PP about the toilet paper. DH/or SIL never switch the TP roll to a new one. I never notice until I am already sitting...

    3) When people say they are going to do something and then don't do it. Then don't tell me you're going to do it!

    4) When we clean the kitchen and then it's absolutely wrecked by the end of the day. This happens a lot.

    5) When FIL chews sunflower seeds and then "forgets" to pick up the shells off of the floor. I had to dig one out of Tristan's mouth the other day. "Oh sorry."

Do we only get 5? I have a lot of recent ones obviously.

  • 1. Slow drivers

    2. gum chewers

    3. Late people

    4. Foul language in everyday conversation

    5. Slow drivers... especially in the fast lane.

  • 1. When I'm on the phone with anyone and they start having a side conversation without saying 'hang on a sec'..umm who are you talking to?!

    2. People showing up at my house without notice.

    3. People that don't RSVP and then show up to a party. Seriously, it takes 2 seconds to shoot a text/email/or call.

    4. Copy cats

    5. LOL is used wayyy too much

  • imageAuburnGirlSC:

    1. When a student asks a question that I just answered. Sometimes I'm not even finished answering before another kid asks the same question.

    2. When I push one button on a drink machine and something different comes out. There's no recourse and it drives me insane.

     3. People who comment on DD's size. She's small. I get it.

    4. When a student asks to turn in something that is over a month late and then gets all offended because I won't take it.

     5. People that have opinions/make comments about things they know nothing about. Example: a student told me this week that she doesn't "approve of daycare." then she admitted that she didn't actually go to daycare so she really doesn't know anything about it.

     6. BONUS! People who think teachers have it easy and people that think southerners aren't smart simply because they're southern.

Stupid southern teachers have it so easy. I can't believe they are stupid enough to use daycare.

  • 1. Body Hair on basically anyone. I hate hair

    2. Being late or people who are late.

    3.  People who will not move just a little when you are clearly trying to get by.

    4. Pets licking me. I loathe it, no matter how much I love  the pet.

    5. Slow drivers, slow movers, and basically slow people in general. If they move out of the way, I can deal with it, but if they are in my way, it's a bad story.

  • 1. When people type "should of" instead of "should have." Or, (this one makes me shudder) "couldn't of." I don't care that it sounds that way when you say it; it's not correct and doesn't make sense for even one hot second.

    2. The old guy who brings a crisp dollar to the register to pay and claims he "just printed this an hour ago." Do you think that's clever? Or that I've never heard it? It's not, and I have.

On a related note, when the State themed quarters first came out and I had to wait for people to sort through their quarters so they wouldn't give me the ones they are saving. Ummm...how about get them out of your wallet? Oh, and then they made me sort through MY quarters to see what I had so they could maybe do a tradsies. I have a job to do, people. And it isn't to make sure you get a full set of the State quarters for each of your 14 grandkids. Extended peeve as a result: People who collect the State quarters.

    3. Kids who can run/talk/and pee on a toilet by themselves, and they have a pacifier. If you have to take it out to say something to me, you shouldn't have it in.

    4. Customers who come in to just get the free item from their coupon and then say they spent all kinds of money two days ago when I ask if they want anything else. Because they are lying. I was there all week, and I haven't seen their face since the last time a free item coupon was circulated. "Really? Why didn't you bring your coupon when you spending your millions on lotion and hand sanitizer two days ago?"

I HAVE to ask if you want to buy something, it's my job. Just say you don't. I really don't care if you only want the free item, I would want it too! Just don't lie about it. (Is it obvious I've worked in retail for about ten years too long?)

    5. When people don't use their blinkers. Especially to change lanes. My husband does this and gets mad when no one will let him in. Then I have to shout at him that they can't read his mind. Also, it causes a lot of preventable accidents.

Wow, I sound like a real betch. On a positive note, this list makes me glad to be a stay at home mommy!!
