Went to the Dr.

G has been running a fever since last night and it wasn't really responding to Tylenol. Bouncing between 102 and 103. So, we went to the doctor this afternoon. They did all the normal stuff?checked her ears, listened to her lungs. All clear. They then did a flu swab. Negative. Then they tell me she is going to need a catheter to extract some urine to check for a UTI. Say what?! Totally not expecting that! Anyway, that came back clean, too.

I guess I don't really have a point to my story except that a catheter was the last thing on my mind when I took her in today. We gave her some Advil, and she is sleeping now....hopefully she is on the mend. *fingers crossed*

    Poor baby!  They did that to ds when he ran a fever. It sucked. I hope she feels like herself soon!  Ds gets a fever with each tooth. Is she teething?  Poor mama too!

     When K had her UTI the pedi didn't suggest that right away. At first everyone thought it was Rosiola,but when her fever hit 104 we went in and did the catheter.

    oh no! Poor baby!  too bad you can't get a urine sample. I know that would be too hard to do but a catheter doesn't sound fun. I hope she is better soon!

    She is drooling a ton, lately! The doctor thinks she could be teething, but thought the temp was a bit high for just teething. So, there is probably something else going on too...possibly a virus?

    Poor baby, I hope she feels better.  A stomach virus has been growing around here; I pray that she doesn't get it!

    I went through the same exact thing a few weeks ago. They ran all the tests and came up with the conclusion that it was viral and would have to run its course. I hope she feels better soon!

    Thanks ladies. I had no idea a catheter was so common. I guess it's not like they are going to pee in a cup for you.

    Her fever has dropped below 102 and she is taking a mondo nap now, so I guess it's running its course.
