Pulling up in crib

The kid has started pulling up in his crib. I knew it would be inevitable, the problem is he hasn't figured out how to get down so he ends up falling and usually bonks his head. Rinse and repeat a few hundred times a day. Short of bubble-wrapping his head, there's nothing I can do, right? We have breathable bumpers but those don't do squat to protect his little noggin. Hopefully he'll figure it out soon?
