drama llamas at work (vent)

I have two colleagues at work that are SUCH drama llamas!  Not with each other, but about everything and anything else.  Just come in, get your work done and stop distracting me please with petty crap.  I don't have the energy right now and don't want to be involved in any case!  Maybe I'm antisocial but I don't like my work life to be entangled with my personal life.  Leave that stuff at home!  GRR.

Re: drama llamas at work (vent)

  • I'm not antisocial at all, and the drama llamas make me nuts. There's a time and place at work for building relationships, but I run away when it starts to resemble a soap opera or a teenage style whine/tantrum/rant. And these people are the same ones who moan/complain "OMG, I can't stand when people go on about xyz (insert kids, that's usually their chief complaint). Pot, meet kettle. And then they look at me. WTF, I rarely talk about my kids (in fact, most people don't know that I have kids, let alone 5), and never to brag about them - not there. I only tell those who ask, and to a bare minimum.

Then I realized those complainers would have picked a different pet peeve, because they seem to really enjoy being down about something. Bleh.

  • I'm very social and haven't worked in years, but the memory of having my ears chatted off by co-irkers talking about anything and everything, making mountains out of mole hills, still bugs.
