If your baby is gassy...

What are you giving for their pain? What foods are you avoiding? DS is BF'd and on Zantac for reflux. Pedi said mylicon or gripe water for gas. The gripe isn't practical for us-it works well if we put it in his bottle but he only gets a bottle every other day. Last night he spat the entire dose right back up when I gave it using the syringe. DS has had 2 screaming in pain episodes this week due to gas. I feel terrible for him.

    We give gas drops every time LO eats. It's only 0.3 mL so it's pretty easy to get down her.

    We give the equate version of mylicon.  I couldn't find mylicon at all, my friend said they stopped making it.

    Anyways, the generic version does the trick.  We ff, but we just give it immediately after the bottle anyways... as I want to make sure he takes it all.

    He's 11 weeks, and he gets .3 in every other bottle (up to 3 times a day max as needed).

    We use the target brand mylicon. .3 ml after each feeding over night and in the late evening. I do think it helps. My LO grunts soooo much!!

    Thanks for the info everyone. Now I'm just annoyed that the pharmacist talked me into the gripe water instead of mylicon in the first place - sounds like that is the way to go.

    I am avoiding dairy...after 36 hours he is already better! It worked for DS1, hope it continues to help DS2, and I was able to add cheese and yogurt back into my diet after a few weeks last time.

    Weve had great luck with gripe water so dont rule it out- each baby is different.
