DD almost always wakes up crying. There isn't anything wrong with her. As soon as I come in and get her she's all smiles. I wish she could just wake up and call out for us or something!
Yes, for naps and for morning wake ups. Its a heck of a way for me to wake up. lol
I don't know why she does this, we put in a night light thinking maybe the dark was scaring her, nope! lol Hopefully as my LO begins to talk, this will stop.
Rarely does he wake up and not cry immediately. He's upset the second his eyes open but only because he wants OUT. As soon as we go in there he's fine.
DS1 went through a phase like this from about 15-17 months. The worst part was that it happened around 5:00-5:30am. You're right, getting jarred awake like that is a terrible way to get up. Sometimes I could get him back asleep on me in the living room. Sometimes not. I couldn't let him CIO either since he'd wake DS2 and that's the last thing I needed.
The problem for us was that he wasn't getting nearly enough sleep at his old daycare. It was a horrible non-sleep cycle. Once we moved to a new place, he's been waking up at 7:00 happily talking and laughing with DS2. It's magical.
If your LO is up and crying at a reasonable hour, napping probably isn't the cause. Hopefully they just grow out of it. Good luck!
